A literal description of my state of mind
Anyone remember Harry Broderick?
Here's a hint:
Once upon a time, a junkman had a dream...
Ringing any bells? The name of the show was Salvage 1, starring Andy Griffith. It ran for 20 episodes in 1979, and was among the worst crap ever broadcast or the most brilliant and inspirational programming - depending on who you talk to.
In it, Andy... uh, Harry rounded up a team of experts and built his own rocketship. He was a junkman, and the moon was full of stuff that NASA had abandoned. The whole tone of the show was that ordinary people could do extraordinary things and like the original Star Trek, the technology was only a background to the 'people' stories being told.
Wonderful pilot movie. The series was pure crap, and I never missed a single forgettable episode. Am I the only one who remembers this?
Y'all were probably watching Three's Company or Dukes of Hazzard.

cancelled in the prime of its life. The trauma of that still haunts me...

*sigh* Almost 30 years later and I'm still a slobbering fan. Anyone who knows me for more than five minutes has to put up with me mentioning that... ;-)

I just hope they don't drop the ball and lose the campy cheesiness in the interest of "modernizing" the good Doctor. It was the camp that attracted me. And heaven help me if they ditch my beloved blue police box, I'm gone.
Same goes for "adult situations". I don't want to know what the Time Lords do behind the bedroom door! Some things were just MEANT to be left to mystery...!
Oh--slightly OT, but for some reason, my name and URL and such don't save in your Comments screen, even though I've selected it to do so. Have you heard of this happening before...?

Denita, I've seen that happen too once in a while. The only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with how you access comments. If you just click on 'comments' it remembers you, if you get there via a link it doesn't. I'll ask Pixy, he's the MT guru.
