. . . I'm tellin' you this safety BS is everywhere now. And to think. I remember when we were out there on our bicycles as kids, tearing around the city streets with NO helmets, no kneepads, no elbow pads. None o' that crap. If you took a tumble and cracked your skull open, well . . . our parents didn't care if we cracked our skulls open because back in those days kids were fast healers. And we didn't have bikelanes and these fancy 10-speeds, and no one had "personal water." You were dehydrated and that was the fun of being out on the hot blacktop on your bike all day with your friends and the miserable goddamned sun beating down on your helmetless head in busy traffic. Dammit where'd I leave my Metamucil . . .
