Dinner tonight was a beautiful steak, accompanied by a thick slab of onion (drizzled with olive oil and a little salt and pepper), and a fresh pear, quartered and cored. All grilled to perfection.

Try it sometime.

Grilled pear? That actually sounds delicious. Did you season it with anything like cinnamon or nutmeg?

Nope, just plain, but now that you mention it, that sounds wonderful too.

Yum. I could live on grilled onions...well, probably not, but I wouldn't mind trying.

Just about anything tastes good if "drizzled with olive oil and a little salt and pepper" and thrown on the grill.

It took me years to learn that in cooking, less is often more. Simplicity over complexity. Zen and the art of grilling, or something like that.
