New Trend? I hope so!

I've been sitting on this one awhile, awaiting further developments.

Some bloggers, like Instapundit, get free books to review. That's cool.

Thanks to Triticale, I learned that a short while ago Jeff (a prominent 2nd Ammendment blogger) was given the opportunity to preview a new firearm. That's very cool.

Lastly, a couple of weeks ago, I got an email referring to the Rocket Jones online biography on Brinke Stevens. It seems that Ms Stevens has written a new horror movie which is now out as an indie effort, and yours truly was offered a review copy. How cool is that?

The internet is a twisted place full of unexpected surprises. If you're using it right.

I don't have the movie yet. I'm waiting to hear back from them to set it up.

How cool is that indeed!

Hmmm, the perks I want are: Hockey tickets so I can cover the Rangers; free lunches in order to review restaurants from the point of view of the common working person; and S H O E S!!!!!

Oh-oh-oh, Mr. Jones... Mr. Jones.... AND GODIVA CHOCOLATES!

Do you think you can have those crazy nuns wave their magic wands, click their heals and make it happen?

I had an author upon whose book I'd reported favorably find my blog after googling himself. He promised me a copy of his next book, but either he's not yet gotten it published, or he's forgotten about poor MfBJN.

Perhaps I'd have better success in freebies if I didn't pan most books I read. Perhaps I wouldn't pan most books I read if I didn't buy them off of the discount rack. It's a vicious circle.
