Part of the reason the level of air pollution declines is due to new cars replacing old cars. Cars made before 1980 (pre-cat converter) emit a much larger amoung of pollution. As the number of these cars on the road decline, the less pollution there is.

I'm not sure of the exact number, but something like 90% of mobile source air pollution comes from older cars.

I would like to ask SH if they have any actual proof that pre-80's cars pollute more than newer cars?That 90% number is even harder to believe.Well,perhaps in 1981 maybe.Please,no EPA or CARB bullshit,either.
